Hi there. Are you new? Maybe you are. Maybe you just moved to the Silicon Valley area from a faraway place. Maybe you or your spouse or both of you (look at you, moneybags!) got a job at a big, important-sounding tech company that moved you and all your stuff from whatever desolate, godforsaken, non-Californian town you were living in to the land of unyieldingly pleasant weather and electric cars. Maybe you're making more money than you thought you ever could, but you wonder if you'll ever be able to afford to buy a house here (hint: nope!).
Hey, me too!
Living here is... different. In a lot of ways it's great, but in some other ways, it kind of sucks. Which is like anywhere, I suppose. But there's a strangeness about this place that defies description, at least in my mind. Everything's just a little bit brighter, a little bit shinier, but not quite... usual? Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Maybe I'm just still in awe of the fact that there's a tree in my front yard that grows actual, factual lemons. While there's still water, that is.
